Grammy’s Primitives began long before I became a “grammy.” However, since that first hand-stitched piece many years ago, my seven grandchildren have become the inspiration for many of my stitcheries and other love-inspired products. Sometimes I even engage those “little hands” as helpers. I believe in the words of the stitchery I’ve done many times that says, “Happiness is a sleeping grandchild in your lap.” Being a grammy is important, and it’s the best job I’ve ever had! Grammy’s Primitives is just a way of putting that happiness into words and works of art.
Many of our primitives are created using vintage fabrics and materials. All stitcheries are done on vintage feed sack fabric, and we use vintage doilies, dish towels, quilt pieces, etc. in our creations. Each piece is special since they are handcrafted, and no two pieces are exactly alike.
A country girl at heart, I always loved the primitive look and have tried to create things that take us back to a more simple and contented time. Whether a framed stitchery or a wooden one-of-a-kind creation inspired and made by my husband, Richard, we hope our products will add warmth and charm to your country home.
